Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany hit the carpet together at The Tourist premiere on Monday (December 6) at NYC’s Ziegfeld Theatre. She came out to support Paul, who stars in the drama thriller with Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp.

The largest independent film festival in the United States takes place annually in the state of Utah. The festival not only showcases the work of American film-makers, it also showcases independent film-makers from all over the world. Two-time Oscar winner Robert Redford, is the founder of the festival. The 2011 edition of the festival takes place at Park City, Utah, from January 20th to 30th.
The festival director, John Cooper, said that, the festival showcases about 125 films, among which 64 dramatic and documentary films will be competing for awards. He also stated that, this year, the films are all original and have come from creative and imaginative places.
David Mackenzie’s “Perfect Sense,” featuring Ewan McGregor and Eva Green, George Ratliff’s “Salvation Boulevard” starring Pierce Brosnan and Jennifer Connelly, Miguel Arteta’s “Cedar Rapids” with Ed Helms and Sigourney Weaver, Jacob Aaron Estes’ “The Details,” starring Tobey Maguire and Elizabeth Banks, JC Chandor’s “Margin Call,” starring Kevin Spacey, Tom McCarthy’s “Win Win,” featuring Paul Giamatti and Amy Ryan, are few of the films that are lined up for the 2011 edition.
With a variety of films from independent film-makers, the festival is sure to attract audiences from all over the world.

Jennifer Connelly reunites with director Ron Howard for the first time since the Academy Award-winning A Beautiful Mind in 2001. Connelly takes a rare comedic turn as Beth, girlfriend to Vince Vaughn’s Ronny Valentine in The Dilemma, hitting theaters on January 14, 2011.
ComingSoon.net caught up with Connelly on set and chatted about her repeat performance for Howard, stepping into some improv and the challenges of having to learn to play ping pong.
Q: You’re just about done shooting.
Jennifer Connelly: Tomorrow is my last day.
Q: Are you planning any special celebration?
Connelly: Well, actually, it’s my son Stellan’s birthday tomorrow, his seventh birthday. So my kids are here. Paul [Bettany] is here. I mean, not right now, but here in Chicago with me and so I think we’ll all come to work together and have some cake. We’ll put on a little celebration. Much more important. The seventh birthday is a big day.
Q: Can you talk about your character in this movie?
Connelly: I play a woman named Beth who is kind of just a really nice girl. She’s a chef. She has her own restaurant. She does pretty well in her chosen vocation. She’s just sort of like an uncomplicated, not neurotic, very easy going, supportive, nice person who lives with Ronny, who Vince [Vaughn] plays. He’s my boyfriend and she’s just one of those people that you go, “God. I wish I reacted like that in that situation.” She’s just kind of nice. Easy. Continue reading…

Jennifer Connelly struggled to be “nice” on The Dilemma. The 39-year-old actress – who stars alongside Vince Vaughn, Winona Ryder, Queen Latifah and Kevin James in the Ron Howard-directed comedy – found her character Beth a challenge because she was “decent”, but admits all roles are a new challenge she takes on. She said: “It’s always a struggle to try and do things, to be decent at it. I don’t ever think it’s easy. With every movie I do I think, ‘God. I’ve gotten myself into another one. Can I do it? Is it going to be okay?’ “I always work really hard and try hard and try and learn what I’ve done, what I’ve just done. I won’t say that just because she’s easy going that I have a laissez fair attitude about my work because she’s an easy going character.” However, the Hollywood beauty wanted to take a role in the movie because Beth sounded “normal”, which is something she rarely gets to portray. She told Cinemablend.com: “I thought it was fun. I liked the idea of playing someone where I thought, ‘God. She’s just normal. She’s just nice.’ “I thought that sounded great. I mean, I’ve just recently done a couple of movies that have more comedy in them.”

The fashion-forward frock had an abstract print with rivet detail down the front, collar neckline and white asymmetrical top (which she chose to remove later in the evening). Connelly’s sleek ponytail and iconic bold brows polished off the ensemble. We love her punky shoes too (the ankle straps resemble shoe laces!). The 39-year-old former Balenciaga spokesmodel presented her friend and designer Nicolas Ghesquière with the evening’s Superstar Award.
